Announcement time! I have put my money where my mouth is, so to speak, and published a fantasy book. Wyrm: A Story of the Hoizonlands is now available in paperback or ebook format on Amazon.
This book is a short novelette, making it a quick read. True to its subtitle, it’s also just the first in a series exploring what I call the “Horizonlands” setting. Both the story and overall setting feature some of the fantastical biology I discuss right here on the blog, including air magic being used to help with flight issues and my beloved monitor lizard dragons (called “drakes” in the setting, except under special circumstances). It also features magic going haywire and breaking the usual rules, hence the dragon on the cover not looking very much like a monitor lizard at all.
